National Club Championships Week 2 Results: Bulls, RedSharks, Portmore and Hyenas record wins.

Liguanea Dragons 28 def. Young Crocs Academy 24


In the 2pm game at Cedar Grove Academy, Liguanea Dragons had to draw on all their experience to see off Young Crocs Academy in a tight encounter. Michael Pearson was excellent for the winners, amassing 14 points from 3 tries and a goal. Adrian Hall contributed 6 points from 3 goals while the center/wing paring of Damion Smith and Akeem Kitson each notched a try.


For Young Crocs, there were 8-point hauls from Half-back Dominic Brown and forward Delano Jarrett, while backs Alpachino Mignott and Jordan Martin each scored a try.

Portmore 48 def. Spanish Town Vikings 24


In the second game at the same location an 18-point haul from Antonio Baker led Portmore to a surprise win over Spanish Town, his points came from 3 tries and 3 goals. Racheed Pencle was the next top scorer for Portmore with 10 points from 2 tries and a goal. Devaughn Stewart and Shemar Nugent each contributed 8 points from a try and goal, while debutants Othniel Holness and Maurice Morant each scored a try.


Andre Lee topped scored for Spanish Town with 8 points from 2 tries, Joseph Daley and Shade Whyte each had a try and Stephan Williams added 4 points from 2 goals. The Vikings will lose back row Raheem Sweeny for 1-2 games after he was red carded for dissent.

Washington Blvd Bulls 32 def. 66 West Kingston Hyenas


Two games were played at Up Park camp, in the first at 2pm, Washington Bulls had a strong defensive showing when they shut out the Hyenas and posted 32 points. Three players scored 8 points; Oshane Eddie got his from 4 goals, while halfback Ronaldeni Fraser and center Lawrence Drummond each had two tries. Forwards Shaneal Brown, Orlando Messado and Makhaya Anderson closed out the scoring with a try each.


Chevaughn Smith of the Bulls will miss between 1-5 games after picking up a red card for a strike.

Dunahey Park RedSharks 4 def. JDF Warriors 6


Defending champions Duhaney Park outscored the JDF 8 tries to 1 as they posted a comfortable win at Up Park Camp in the 4pm game. The winner’s top scorer was center Adrian Brown with 10 points from 5 goals. Jenson Morris continued his good form with 8 points from 2 tries. Other scores were Kenneth Walker, Fabian Turner, Chevaughn Bailey, Daniel Graham, Ryan Grant, and Daniel Barnett; each with a try.


The JDF got their lone try from debutant Jowayne Forbes, meanwhile fullback Nicolai Kennedy closed out their scoring with a goal.
